In Memoriam of Prof. Luigi Califano
With deep sadness and respect, the Italian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery (SICMF) remembers Professor Luigi Califano, who passed away a few months ago. Professor Califano was an tireless leader and a point of reference for our community, leading SICMF with unmatched dedication and commitment until his passing.
Throughout his long and prestigious career, Professor Califano made significant contributions to the advancement of maxillofacial surgery in Italy and around the world. His passion for innovation and research made him a pioneer in the field, always ready to explore new technologies and methodologies to improve patient care. He inspired countless colleagues and students with his enthusiasm, spirit of service, and dedication to training the next generation of surgeons.
In addition to being an eminent professional, Professor Califano was a person of great humanity. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him remembers his warm smile, his willingness to help, and his ability to listen. He left an indelible mark not only on the scientific community but also in the hearts of those who knew him.
