SICMF CUP REGULATION
The SICMF CUP is a unique competition designed to challenge participants’ knowledge, skills, and teamwork in the field of maxillofacial surgery. Now in its fourth edition, this award celebrates excellence in surgical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration among teams of young surgeons.
1. Competition Overview
The SICMF CUP is both a challenging and educational competition aimed at specialists in maxillofacial surgery. All Italian schools of specialization in maxillofacial surgery, including their associated locations, are invited to participate. Each team must consist of three specialists who will compete against other teams in a structured format. The jury, composed of three distinguished members, will evaluate the teams’ performance.
2. Structure of the Competition
Each participating team will present three clinical questions, with each specialist contributing one question. The topics will cover a wide range of maxillofacial surgery disciplines. To facilitate structured responses, each team will prepare two PowerPoint presentations for each question:
First Presentation: 2 slides featuring the clinical question and multiple-choice answers (A-B-C-D-E).
Second Presentation: 2 slides highlighting the correct answer, including a detailed explanation.
During the competition, each team will have 30 seconds to answer each question. The competition encourages strategic thinking, teamwork, and quick decision-making under pressure.
3. Evaluation and Awarding
At the conclusion of the tournament, the jury will assess all teams’ performances and assign scores accordingly. In case of a tie, the teams involved will be presented with an open-ended clinical question, which they must answer to determine the final winner.
Award:
Each member of the winning team will receive a €500 prize in recognition of their outstanding performance and expertise.
This competition fosters a spirit of camaraderie and excellence, encouraging participants to refine their decision-making abilities while applying their knowledge to real-world clinical scenarios. The SICMF CUP IV Edition stands as a testament to the society’s commitment to promoting continuous learning, teamwork, and the highest standards of patient care.
