Presentation & Session Guidelines

SICMF 2025 brings together lecturers, researchers and clinicians from across the world. To guarantee a smooth scientific programme, every contributor must follow the role‑specific instructions below. Please read the guidelines that apply to you and respect the indicated deadlines and speaking times.

1. Roles & Definitions

2. Technical Requirements (all roles using slides)

  • File format: Only PowerPoint (.ppt/.pptx) is accepted. Keynote/other formats must be converted before delivery. You can download the template in section 7.
  • File delivery: Upload your final file at least 2 hours before your session in the Speakers’ Preview Room (Ground Floor, Stazione Marittima, Technical Secretariat). Personal laptops are not permitted in the session rooms.
  • Presentations are transferred electronically to the session rooms; files are deleted after the Congress to protect copyright.
  • English slides are appreciated. Simultaneous Italian↔English interpretation is available in all plenary rooms.

3. If You Are a Speaker (Keynote or Plenary)

  • Observe the allocated time strictly:
    • Keynote lectures: 30 min.
    • Plenary talks: 20 min.
  • Follow the technical requirements in Section 2.
  • Arrive in the room 15 minutes before the session starts and remain until the discussion ends.

4. If You Are a Oral Communication Speaker

  • Present the accepted abstract in a dedicated Oral Communication slot.
  • Timing: 6 minutes per talk.
  • Keep the deck concise (≈6–8 slides is ideal) and deliver it as per Section 2.
  • Arrive in the room 15 minutes before the session starts and remain until the end of the discussion block.

5. If You Are a Panelist (MEETs Sessions)

  • MEETs are interactive panel discussions steered by a Session Chair / President.
  • Format & timing (including any slides) are entirely at the Chair’s discretion. Expect a briefing beforehand or at the start of the session.
  • Slides are optional. If you plan to use any, comply with Section 2.
  • Arrive in the room 15 minutes before the start to agree on last‑minute details with the Chair and technical staff.

6. If You Are a Moderator / Session Chair

  • Be in the session room at least 15 minutes early to meet speakers/panelists and confirm the running order.

  • Keep the session on time:

    • Keynote – 30 min

    • Plenary – 20 min per talk

    • Oral Communication – 6 min per talk

    • Panel discussion – as per your plan (notify panelists in advance).

  • Introduce each contributor briefly (name, affiliation, talk title/role).

  • Facilitate the session using the aisle microphones provided.

  • Report any technical issue to the room technician immediately
